ABOUT FULL COMBAT CENTRE

THE STARTING OF FULL COMBAT CENTRE.....

Full Combat Centre was established in July 2011 by brothers Shane Nix and Chris Nix. Initally the primary goal was to have a premier training facility in which we could bring talented athletes in to have a really competitive training camp for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). This was the primary goal as Shane the eldest of the two brothers is a very well established cage fighter having won the Cage Fighting Championship (CFC) welterweight title belt, the best MMA competition in Australia and having a great team where athletes of similar mind can push each other this would create a very talented fight team.

Having this in mind the need for the best trainers available was at the top of the list so the search was conducted and FCC had acquired itself over the first couple months some of the best trainers around for all aspects of mixed martial arts. The gym started to produce some good talent and was looking at starting to compete in competition

THE NEED OF CHANGE....

The need of a change of perspective had come and the shift of an athlete based gym to a more family environment was needed. It was felt if this change occured the gym would prosper and bring more people to FCC and make it an even more positive, better place to train at. They way FCC went about this was bringing in children's classes, splitting classes up to accomodate for beginners and advanced members and shifting the focus from fighters to everyone as all of our members are important to us.

By implementing these changes children started training at the gym and more parents were around watching their kids train. Also females started training at the gym more so it was not so male dominant. All these changes are positive changes in which FCC is happy with.

FULL COMBAT CENTRE NOW... (April 2013)

Nearly a couple years later Full Combat Centre is growing and expanding all the time. Great indicators of this are the implementation of more kids classes and the plan to have a whole kids timetable. The growing membership base in which FCC has experienced even this past few months, fresh faces are always good and are welcomed by everyone at the gym. There is a feeling of being apart of something great, for example the boxing academy competitots fought recently and half the gym went down to watch, it was a great showing by FCC competitors and supporters. Also the plans in the future for additional classes for everyone and ones for women and fitness only.

These are all great indicators of a successfully growing club but none bigger is the upgrading to a new facility. Full Combat Centre has reached its near full capacity and needs a premises change to be able to accomodate for the influx of people and to continue to grow. FCC has recently secured a brand new factory at Eastern Creek right near the track. The factory will be visible as you are driving on the M4. For some members it may be a little more travel but for most it is a very convenient location as it is literally 2 minutes off the M4 exit Resvoir road. This mean for people travelling from Parramatta, Penrith and anyone coming down the M7 will have a quick drive to get to the gym.

The new premises will be 500sqm, 3 times the size of our current gym allowing us to have more room for our expanding membership base. The prospects for the new gym include:

  • finally a big carpark with no hassles in finding spots
  • a foyer with a supplement shop inside of it
  • a full recovery unit including a sauna and ice bath
  • a small weighted area with dumbbells, benches and olympic bars
  • a full strength and conditioning setup with intentions of upgrading to a more sport science based setup inclduing fitness and skill testing, program implementation specific to goals and your sports needs and full nutritional advice.
  • the prospect of an on board physiotherapist coming in to the gym on a regular basis to work with anyone who are experiencing pain of any sort
  • academies for all our indivdual sports and requirements to be apart of the academy
  • kids programs where they have fun and learn basic coordination skills in the form of games and some drills
  • women's only classes in fitness and boxing.

Get excited for around October this year for the move as we will be able to cater for many more people for classes, personal training and supplementation.!!!!
